Grocery List

Source

I've been saving this as a story prompt for a little while, partially because it seems so bizarre I don't quite know what to make of it.

Found: one grocery list, discarded in the parking lot of my local chain supermarket.

Side 1:

Side 2:
Split personality? Husband / wife team? HOOVES?

how wonderfully bizarre

dif handwriting, so it's gotta be different people

... though for some reason I want to take grocery lists and make them into recipes for character murders. (I have perhaps been watching too much Dexter)

Do it. My story prompt is your story prompt.

(Do you think that "HOOVES" is in the handwriting of the person from Side 1, or the person from Side 2? I kind of think Side 2.)

Hooves! That is AWESOME! I wonder about the story behind it. :D

(I do think that the handwriting for "hooves" is probably the same person who did side 2. It's the same color pen and it looks like it might have been written at the same time.)

Side one is definitely a wife, telling her hubby not to spend more than $5 on cheese.

Hooves. Hmmm. It seems so important in its big letters, too.

I think both handwritings look female. What does the first line on side 2 say?

This makes me want to publish my notebook lol...most pages have grocery lists on one side, and story outlines on the other, some even have words like "Exterminate before it is too late." I meant roaches, of course :)

Thanks for sharing that, Elizabeth. I want to read a story based on that, and I don't really care that much who writes it.

Hooves away!!

This is so interesting. Total story prompt material!

(Sorry I am just now getting around to your blog to say hello. I too am a fellow plague enthusiast!)

Love it. Isn't it fun to find something so random and bizarre and to try to imagine the person who wrote it. I guess it wasn't really random since it was a grocery list in a grocery store parking lot, but bizarre it is!

I think same person different mood. My handwriting changes depending on my mood and whether or not I am in a hurry. I have these little post it notes that I am always writing notes to myself on. Sometimes even I can't figure out what the heck I was talking about lol.

HOOVES

Haha that's an awesome, if not unusual find, but I love (as you say) the split-personality dynamics of the back/front. The classic handwritten reminder. This person(s) evidently have not entered the new age of technological accessibility. Coulda plugged the list into a phone, an iPad, or some other new gadget.
